December 20
Today a small bird with a red chest got itself trapped in the entryway of the nursing home. It stood among the plants, periodically flying into the window pane. I moved a plant. I got out of the way. But I wasn’t helping, so I pushed the door open wide and left it to find its way out. · Today Len reached out his hand to me and said, “I’m in the dead house.” He talked about being trapped in here (I think the nursing home) and used the word interned. I rubbed his arm and told him today wasn’t the day. · He said Edith was his better half and no better half could there be. He said she was marvelous. · He said he couldn’t say words properly and he didn’t like it here because he wasn’t “part of it.” He said going through all of this with them must be difficult for me. I told him I liked being with him. |
